2010~1011學年開學日─9/11/2010(Next School Year will start on 9/11)

各位家長，下學期開學日是 9/11，其他活動日期請查看近期的日新網頁。
本週六，學校攝影的梁仰生先生、陳宇新先生、李威德先生，會到各班幫忙照活動照，以上課及當天活動為主，同學可以注意一下穿著。

Dear parents, next year the school will start on 9/11, please check RCS web site calendar for more detail schedule - will be updated soon.
Coming Saturday, the school photographers Jimmy, Jason, and William will stop by the class rooms and taking the class activity pictures so please have students dress more carefully.

註冊請前往辦公室 B101 (The registration office is still opened at B101)

這學期還有一週的時間，請還沒註冊的家長盡快前往辦公室 B101 辦理註冊手續。方便學校的行政作業。

There will be only week before the end of this school year. For helping the school administration work, please register promptly. The registration office will be opened at office – B101.

理事選舉結果(Board Election Result)

恭喜柯玲玲，周忠宏，陳于星三位新當選的理事。另一位候選人，本屆的家長會長楊佩清亦獲得高票，但他明年會擔任副校長一職，已為當然理事。同時謝謝今年服務期滿的錢懋圭，楊道亨，洪良玉理事，在任期間整理英文組織章程，協助園遊會等。

Congratulations to Tina Ke, Wilson Chou and Eugene Chen who will join the board starting July. Daniel, current PTA Chair, also received many votes, and will be on the board, too, as the Vice Principal next school year. Many thanks to the retiring members Emily, Andy and Liang-Yu for updating the English by-law, helping the festival, etc.

FUHSD 高中學區Measure B 提案通過，謝謝各位家長參與投票。

The passing of FUHSD Measure B has relieved a lot of pressure off the district. Many thanks to all our parents who voted.

日新第五次理事會議結論

日新第五次理事會於上週六 (５/22/2010) 於B101辦公室召開，12:00-2:00PM，討論事項如下:
1.王味新校長報告

a.今年為老師們準備了年終禮物，在謝師宴上送給老師。今年也準備了謝禮給勞苦功高的幹部們。b.謝師宴訂在6/6（週日）６時假Cupertino王朝海鮮酒家。

2.奚藻勳副校長報告
a.有許多新生註冊，由於今年註冊較晚，舊生的數字尚未出來。b.老師招聘正在進行中c.行政幹部正在招募中。

3.PTA楊佩清報告
a.明年會長為:狄佩華，副會長為陳照蓉。b.今年的scrip銷售比去年低$1,000。
2008-2009 : $3067.00 (scrip) + $585.35(gift card) = $3652.35
2009-2010 : $2065.20 (scrip) + $539.70(gift card) = $2604.90

4.理事會報告
a.一致同意明年校長由現任副校長奚藻勳接任。他希望做到：
i.加強電腦與 網路的運用
ii.加強老師使用電腦教學的能力
iii.增加教務和老師之間的溝通
iv.與家長會合作增加Scrip 的銷售b.一致同意奚藻勳所提名的明年副校長人楊佩清。c.新理事為 柯玲玲，周忠宏，陳于星，楊佩清（Vice Principal），狄佩華 (PTA Chair)。謝謝卸任理事錢懋圭,楊道亨,洪良玉, 龍啟華。新理事接收binder，約略了解學校組織章程。選出新理事長王味新。

The 5th board meeting was held on 5/22 (Sat) 12:00-2:00PM at B101. Discussion as below:
1.Principal Bill

a.Will pass out the teacher appreciation gift in the banquet. Also has prepared thank-you gift for the staff.b.Teacher appreciation banquet is on 6/6(Sunday), 6PM at Cupertino Dynasty Restaurant.

2.Vice Principal James
a.Registration – Received many new students so far; returning students count is not out yet because of late-start this year.b.Teacher interview is on going.c.Staff recruitment is on going.

3.PTA Daniel
a.Next year’s chair is Daphne; VP is Joanne.b.This year’s scrip sale is $1,000 less than last year.

4.Board
a.All agreed to have current vice principal James to become principal next year. James has the following agenda:
i.More usage of computer and internet for teaching.
ii.More teacher computer training.
iii.More communication among teachers and curriculum staff.
iv.Work with PTA to Improve scrip sale. b.All accepted James’nomination of Daniel as vice principal next year.c.New board members are Tina , Wilson, Eugene and Daniel(Vice Principal), Daphne (PTA Chair). Retiring members are Emily, Andy, Liang-Yu and Chea-Hwa. New members received binders and were briefed on the school by-law. Elected Bill as new board chair.

Basketball Coach Herman’s Annual Salmon Fishing Trip

BETTER GO FISHING BEFORE THEY CLOSE DOWN THE SALMON FISHING AGAIN.FISHING HAS BEEN GOOD.
Date: August 7, 2010 Saturday
Meet at Pillars Point, Half Moon Bay. Meeting at 6am.
cost: $90.00 per person. Rental: fishing rod, reel, lines, and bait ($10) day fishing license can be bought in the morning at the bait shop.
If you are interested in going on this Salmon Trip, all you have to do is send in $90. Make the check out to Herman Young and Memo it as Salmond Trip. Send it to Herman Young; 22448 Ramona Court; Cupertino, CA. 95014. All money will be return if the trip is canceled by the captain or by Herman Young. No refunds.
